THE MALAYSIAN JOB SEEKER DILEMMA

You can complain how difficult it is finding jobs in Malaysia. You can complain your salary is peanut. You can also complain how much you hate your job.  Why should I listen to you when you don't learn and take actions?

Here are some questions before you read further. Are you one of the followings:

1. Are you one of those job seekers out there who runs like a headless chicken finding your dream job but without success?

Maybe you are a fresh graduate. Or a graduate who finished education more than a year ago but still with no job. Maybe a freelancer or a part timer looking for a more secured opportunity. Or perhaps you are the latest lay-off victim from your company VSS exercise. In order words, you are a desperate job seeker, and you need a job now.

You have looked everywhere, and you think that you have looked enough. So it's time to find a scapegoat to blame. You complain to the government. You say your government fails to provide you job. The government is not fair. The government is this, the government is that. Why? Do you think the government owes you job? Grow up.

Fruitless job search campaign also draws you into oblivion and disillusion your soul. As a result, you fell trapped into ‘fictitious’ job advertisements and job offers. Out of desperation, you end up being lured to do door to door sales job with no training, or end up selling some foreign investment scheme without even a basic salary. I came across them over and over. I am also here to tell you, that myself, once became one of them before.

Isn't that sad? Is there a magic pill to solve this problem?

2. Are you one of those over 90% of the working people in this world who hate their job, unsure what your career path has to offer?

If you don’t like one job, quit. Sounds simple, isn’t it? The company might not be meant for you. The problem is, the company that you are working for now is last year’s Asia Employer of the Year award recipient. Or your company is currently in the main board of Bursa Malaysia with the biggest share capitalization. In order words, you’re in a freaking, damn good and big company.

Excuse the language, but at the end of the day, you find out that you’re not happy with your job now. Funny, huh? While other job seekers are seeking for every opportunity to get into your organization, you’re contemplating to find your way out. Why is it so?

It is natural for you to be unhappy in your work place place regardless of the reputation of the company, the size, or even the salary and compensation that you are currently enjoying. At one point of time, it will be inevitable and it will be only a matter of time for you to walk out of that door.

Do you know why? Is there a get-away solution for this?

Many have also made that very simple mistake by assuming that if the salary offered is higher than their current income, they will happily accept the job offer. They forget about other benefits and perks, and other long term financial and non-financial commitments from the company.

Then you ask, “Other benefits? What are those?”

As far as compensation and benefits are concerned, there are 9 other items that you should take into consideration when contemplating to accept a job offer. What are those 9? The ebook reveals all. Later when faced with the dilemma of 'take-it-or-leave-it' offer from a company, you can tell this to their face,

"I NOT STUPID!"*

    3. Finally, a simple question, though you may see it as a tricky one. Which one is more important? Job or income?

Which one is more important? Job or income? Or both are equally so? Or is there any difference?

"What is this mister apprentice-wanna-be is trying to say?"

If you have job, then you have income. Basic rule. What if you don't have job? You're deprived of income isn't it? To some extent, yes, but not always necessarily true. Why? Because without a job you can still generate income.

That’s the interesting part. You don’t have jobs but you can still generate income. We're talking about survival here. To survive, you have to move, and move fast. Otherwise, you will be eaten alive.

The ebook reveals what are the methodologies for you to generate income either when:

 1. You’re unemployed, no job, and no money.

      2. You’re employed, but still looking for more money.

“Being in the Malaysia job market for over 5 years, I came to realize that many job seekers do not have the grasp of information and the know-how needed for them to survive in the competitive job market. I see them every year. The names and the faces change, but the cycle continues. The problems that keep on haunting the job seekers are only centered on the same sets of problems. They are alone, confused and often at lost. I term this as the ‘Dilemma of Malaysian Job Seekers’.

I decided it’s time to share the experience gained and the information gathered in the form of a practical hands-on guide. It is from the true experience of a recruitment consultant. As consultants, we become the ‘bridge’ between the employers and the candidates. We gather the expectations from the employers, and we gauge whether the candidates can deliver. Even though the unemployment issue is a very familiar subject in Malaysia, the depth of information covered in this book is nowhere near what you can find from other resources and books in Malaysia. This I can assure you.”

Zul,

I didn't expect to get wealth of information from this ebook, but I was definitely wrong. This ebook spells out a lot of solutions to the headaches many job seekers are having.

It has always been a problem for the newly graduates to find the right employment, not because they don't have good academic qualifications, but because they do not know what employers expect from them.

Likewise for the employees seeking for advancement or change of career - they may fall into a trap of making a wrong move, if they don't know what they are getting themselves into.

"The Malaysian Jobseeker Dilemma" will help you make the right decision, prepare you for the next dream job interview and make you a better employee. You will benefit from reading this ebook.

Zul, Congratulations on the ebook well written!

Most Malaysians go from college to job to another job with absolutely no idea what they want, or what opportunities they have access to.

It's fantastic that someone finally decided to give everyone a major education on job seeking. I'm 100% certain that you will not find this type of information anywhere else.

It's no point "climbing the corporate ladder" if it's on the wrong wall! I suggest you get this book, study it, and get an unfair advantage over your colleagues.

Sincerely,

Zulkifli's ebook, The Malaysian Jobseeker Dilemma is a refreshing guide to all job seekers in the Malaysian market. It is not your usual resume sample and how to hunt for a job ebook nor is it a typical boring directory - type that lists out hundreds of company contact list with no purpose and guide to the reader.

Zul’s ebook is a reflection of the real Malaysian jobseeker in the real Malaysian market place that is full of frustration, confusion, lack of knowledge and fear. It is a book that combines the various aspects in a job seeker's journey that underlines the dilemma that he or she would feel when stepping into the job hunting world. This ebook is not only a reference to a job seeker on how to write resumes, cover letters and where to look for a job but it also takes the effort to explain to the reader the realistic expectations of both the job seeker and the job provider – an honest effort indeed and not found in many of your common type of books.

What I feel sets this ebook apart from the rest is that it empowers those whom are unfortunate to secure employment to be on their own and to not look at employment as an opportunity provided by someone else. By this, Zul’s ebook I believe motivates and brings new realization to job seekers to see job hunting in a different paradigm.

As a working professional in the job search industry, as a past, present and possibly future jobseeker, Malaysian’s Jobseeker Dilemma is an ebook all of us should have.
